Rebecca Lister is a Solicitor with Nottingham based law firm Rothera Sharp. Rebecca joined the firm as a Trainee Solicitor in 2016 and qualified in September 2018. Prior to joining the firm, Rebecca completed the LPC at Nottingham Law School, having achieved a first class honours degree in Law with New Zealand Law from the University of Nottingham and the University of Auckland.
During her training contract, Rebecca spent 18 months working in the family department, gaining experience in all areas of family law, including both matrimonial and child care proceedings. Rebecca now specialises in children and child care proceedings, regularly representing parents during care proceedings. Rebecca deals with a wide range of matters, from domestic violence to drug and alcohol abuse. She has represented victims of domestic violence who need an emergency protective order. Rebecca also has experience in parental disputes, including applications for contact or residency.
Rebecca is passionate about her work. She is aware that clients often come to us at some of the most difficult times of their lives – her approach is therefore sympathetic, whilst remaining realistic to ensure that her clients understand what is happening at all times.
As well as being predominantly based in our Lace Market office, Rebecca also attends a local advice centre to help advise its visitors on any legal issues they may have.
Rebecca is also interested in the business development side of legal practice, attending networking events and seminars. She has links with local schools and universities and acts as a mentor for students hoping to enter into the legal profession.
