Emily Weston is as an Associate Solicitor in the Residential Conveyancing team and is based primarily at our Beeston office. The department is now recognised as the largest Conveyancing team in Nottinghamshire operating across seven offices and covering all aspects of residential conveyancing work.
Emily’s expertise covers a wide range of services including sales & purchases, remortgages, transfer of equity, ascents, new build properties (including help to buy mortgages and shared equity) and right to buy. Emily likes to ensure that clients feel at ease to ask anything they like about the buying and selling process and she prefers to cut through the legal jargon and deliver information in a clear and simple way so that clients are reassured of what is happening every step of the way.
Qualifications & Experience
Emily joined Rothera Sharp in 2017. She obtained her degree in Law at Lancaster University in 2008 before completing her LPC at Nottingham Law School in the midst of the 2008 recession. Due to limited training contract opportunities she joined Nelsons Solicitors on a temporary Marketing Assistant contract before being offered a role as a paralegal and then a training contract in 2011. Emily successfully completed her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in September 2013, qualifying into the Family department upon completion.
After moving to another firm in Leicester Emily decided to make the move across into the conveyancing department in 2015 where she worked on a variety of residential matters as well as developing a specialism in new-build property purchases; during this time she was also promoted to Associate Solicitor in 2016.
