Brett James is a Conveyancing and Wills and Probate Paralegal at Rothera Sharp and is based at our Lace Market office.
As part of the Conveyancing team Brett helps advise clients on the buying and selling process, including liaising with mortgage lenders, estate agents and solicitors. She also deals with post completion matters including stamp duty and land registry applications.
Brett also assists the firm’s Wills and Probate team on a wide range of legal services such as creating new wills and trusts, drafting and registering power of attorney documents, dealing with the administration of estates, and making deputyship applications.
Qualifications & Experience
Brett achieved a B.A Honours in the Law and Society Program from York University in Toronto, Canada, graduating in 2015, and previously worked in personal injury and criminal law in Canada before moving to the UK.
In 2017 Brett graduated with an LLB in the Accelerated Two Year Senior Status LLB program at the University of Leicester.
Brett originally worked for Rothera Sharp in 2017 as a receptionist at the Lace Market office before going back to Canada. Brett returned to the UK in 2018 and re-joined the firm that May at the former Arnold branch three days a week to assist with conveyancing, probate and family matters and the Lace Market office for the remaining two days before moving full time to the Lace Market office earlier this year to assist wills and probate solicitors Adam Cotterill and Alison Richardson and partner Duncan Godfrey on conveyancing matters.
