Partner & Chairwoman
Ann-Marie Bowman is Partner and Chairwoman of Nottingham based law firm Rothera Sharp. In her role as Chairwoman Ann-Marie leads the executive board who are focused on strategic planning and implementation.
Ann-Marie remains highly committed to her fee-earning work in family law, dealing with all aspects of children matters. She is an accredited member of the Law Society Children’s Accreditation scheme (previously referred to as the Children Panel) recognising her expertise in this area of work.
Ann-Marie frequently represents children’s guardians, and takes instructions directly from children in appropriate circumstances, to ensure their interests are represented in Court proceedings. Ann-Marie also represents parents, other family members and foster carers within proceedings.
Qualifications & Experience
Ann-Marie qualified in 1999 and has 20 years’ experience as a solicitor in family law. She dealt with a varied family law caseload before specialising in children matters from 2004. Ann-Marie graduated from Newcastle University and attained her Legal Practice Course at York. She completed her training contract at a predominantly legal aid law firm in Leicester and following a merger transferred to the Nottingham office of another Midlands firm. Ann-Marie joined Rothera Sharp in 2002, progressing through the roles of Assistant Solicitor, Associate and Partner and was Managing Partner throughout the firm’s 2016 merger until 2019, when she became Chairwoman.
