As we enter 2018, it’s almost too tempting to look into our crystal ball and try and foretell what will happen in the commercial property world over the next 12 months.
Certainly, in Nottingham, it’s been encouraging to see in the local press predictions for 2018 that the city could be on the cusp of something substantial.
Brendan Moffett, the chief executive of Marketing NG, the body tasked with promoting the city and wider county, is certainly optimistic about Nottingham’s commercial property sector in 2018.
He says Nottingham is “on the brink of a new era”, including the redevelopment of the Broadmarsh and the unveiling in spring of the masterplan of the Island site. Also, he says, announcements are set to be made on the huge mixed-use Guildhall site in Nottingham city centre.
There’s more to add into the mix, including 450,000 sq ft of Grade A office space at Unity Square near Nottingham Railway Station.
Brendan also adds that Bildurn are expected to commence 50,000 sq ft of Grade A on Station Street subject to planning consent.
These complement other recent high-quality office refurbishments on the market in the city such as Royal Standard Place and Fothergill House.
